Youth Protection Training

In order to complete Youth Protection Training (YPT), you must first set up a MyScouting account…

  1. Log on to the National website – www.scouting.org
  2. In the top right corner, click on the word “MyScouting”
  3. If you currently have a MyScouting account, login.  If you do not have an account, click on “Create an Account” on the right hand side of the page and enter all the necessary information to create your account.  Note: You do not have to have a member id to create the account, however, you should update your profile with your member id as soon as you receive it.
  4. Once you have logged in, on the left hand side of the screen click on word “E-Learning” under the word “Training”.  When you scroll down the page, you will see that the General tab is open and YPT is the first item on the list.
  5. To the right of the course name, you will see “Take Course”. Once you click “Take Course” the training will begin.  Note: Be sure that the volume on your computer is turned up because you will go through a series of videos and then questions after each video.
  6. After completing the course, enter your name at the prompt.  A certificate of completion will be generated with your name on it.  Be sure to print two of these – One for your records and one for the Council office*.
  7. When you have completed your session, look at the top right of the page and you should see your name with a small arrow beside it.  Click the arrow and then click “Log Out” and it will take you back to the National website.
