On October 17-19, 2025, Pack 108 will once again attend the Gold Rush Camping event. This campout is a Palmetto Council favorite among the Cub Scout Packs from Fort Mill, Chester, and Rock Hill, as they come together to compete in fun games and win candy prizes. On Saturday night, we will gather around a large bonfire to enjoy some entertaining skits.
Since the event is located in Rock Hill (Westminster Park), you have flexible attendance options: join us for the entire weekend, camp overnight for one night, or simply participate in the Saturday day events. If you have a sports game, feel free to leave the site, attend your game, and return when you’re done. The close proximity makes it an excellent opportunity for new families to experience camping.
We’ll be camping in a large field without electricity, and the restrooms will be port-o-johns. Pack 108 will provide a pack-level dinner for all attendees and their families on Saturday night, with the menu to be determined.
The costs are as follows:
– $22 per Cub Scout
– $20 per sibling participating in Gold Rush games
– $5 per adult or sibling NOT participating in Gold Rush games
These fees cover the entire family’s camping, Saturday night dinner, and the Scout’s participation in the games. All families are asked to bring a bag of assorted candy and 3 gold painted rocks to be used during the games.
