One time a year, the Huntington Beach State Park Rangers host an overnight campout inside the historic Atalaya Castle. Pack 108 is venturing to Murrells Inlet, SC to take part in this unique opportunity. The Overnight is Saturday Nov 9 @ 5pm to Sunday Nov. 10@ 10am. Cost will be $50/adult and $35/Child. The park service provides Dinner and Breakfast as part of the programs as well as a castle tour, scavenger hunt, ghost stories around the campfire. Since this event is held 1 weekend a year, registration fills up quickly and typically by end of Aug/early Sept so to ensure spots for Pack 108. Some families may opt to get a hotel room Friday night an make a weekend out of this trip. Families will have the choice of sleeping in a tent or in a “room”. The rooms are just open aired space- you’ll still need to bring items for sleeping. Currently most families in Pack 108 are looking at doing a room option as if there is rainy weather the room shields you and keeps the overnight enjoyable.
First time campers this is a great one to try as you don’t need to bring much equipment and all food is provided.
